Holi is a popular Hindu celebration, known as well as, the Festival of Colors, Festival of Spring or Festival of Love. It marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It celebrates the triumph of good over bad, based on the legend where Holika dies by fire and Lord Vishnu, as Narayana remains.  People celebrate together with family and friends smearing with dry or wet paint and showering in powdered color and water.
